Jakarta, July 18th, 2015 – Right before Eid Al-Fitr 1436 H, and drawing on HijUp.com’s 4th anniversary of being the first Islamic fashion e-commerce portal in the world, it is announcing a 7-digit figure seed funding from a strategic consortium of global investors, including Fenox Venture Capital; 500 Startups; and Indonesia’s largest media group, EMTEK. This seed round is equips HijUp.com to further strengthen its position as the market leader in fashion muslim e-commerce category.
The funds will be used to build next-generation infrastructure and human resources to support a much larger increase in number of customers.

Based on the research per January 2014 that were recorded by idEA, the Association of e-commerce in Indonesia, HijUp.com, is one of the 17 most popular fashion e-commerce sites, as well as the most popular site in its category–muslim fashion–in Indonesia.
HijUp.com holds more than 200 Islamic fashion brands, many with international brand recognition. In line with Hijup.com’s desire to uplift the works of local designers to compete in an international scale, this investment will see further expansion into multiple categories of muslim fashion, including clothing, hijabs, headscarves, and accessories.

This is the second round of seed funding which has been received by HijUp.com after the first one from Fenox Venture Capital, 500 Startups and Skystar Capital, on the last January, and as well for an undisclosed amount.

The traffic statistics of HijUp.com currently shows it has reached 2 million in 2015. The largest source of traffic outside Indonesia comes from Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Australia, America, England, and several other European countries. Sales data also correlates, as Hijup has seen an 4 times increase of sales (and over 20% per month on month) since the first investment.
